For over 25 years, Robert W. McBride, LCSW, MSW, as psychotherapist and proprietor of the agency The Third Path provided therapy for adults, primarily men, in regards to their criminal behaviors, childhood and adult trauma, Post-traumatic stress, depression, personality constraints, maladaptive schemas, and attachment issues.

 

He is the author of Change is The Third Path and Breaking the Cycle. He has lectured in America and Taiwan. He treated court-mandated clients from Arapahoe County Courts and the NFL. He has also consulted, collaborated and volunteered at the Institute for Attachment and Child Development. He volunteered at Futures Academy counseling young adult reentering the educational process and society in general and assisting staff in understanding the issues these young adults were coping with.

Robert believes the work at Futures Academy was the best and most satisfying work of his life. The young adults at Futures were a reflection of his youth and he related to their stories. Robert was expelled from high school at 16 years-old. Functionally illiterate he worked in construction until 23 years-old. He enrolled in a community college as he learned to read and write. He has earned a B.S., M.B.A., M.S.W. and is a L.C.S.W. Proficient cognitive behavioral therapist, certified in EMDR and a skilled hypnotherapist.
